The Design Decomposition Blog is written by Doug Barry.
The object model directly supports references. As in reality, most object
instances "reference" each other in some way. References are
also called "relationships."
This example shows two references. The object instance
representing Doug Barry stores two object identifications (OIDs). One OID
represents Robert Barry. The other OID represents Helene Otterberg. The
OIDs appear as arrows. These references represent the parents of Doug
Barry.
The objects representing Robert Barry and Helene Otterberg each store an
OID that represents Doug Barry. These references represent the child of
Robert and Helene.
