Universal Business Language (UBL)

Universal Business Language (UBL): This is an important development in the use of XML vocabularies. In any human language, the same word can mean different things for different industries. Conversely, different words sometimes can mean the same thing in different industries. The OASIS UBL Technical Committee's charter is to define a common XML business document library. UBL will provide a set of XML building blocks and a framework that will enable trading partners to unambiguously identify and exchange business documents in specific contexts. This is an effort to unite efforts underway by organizations and standards groups around the world. The OASIS UBL Technical Committee intends to enhance and harmonize overlapping XML business libraries and similar technologies to advance consensus on an international standard. Organization: . by with David Dick

This is a guide for the savvy manager who wants to capitalize on the wave of change that is occurring with Web Services, service-oriented architecture, and—more recently—Cloud Computing. The changes wrought by these technologies will require both a basic grasp of the technologies and an effective way to deal with how these changes will affect the people who build and use the systems in our organizations. This book covers both issues. Managers at all levels of all organizations must be aware of both the changes that we are now seeing and ways to deal with issues created by those changes.
