With the Workstudy Class, we continue checking the class hierarchy against
the original relational views. The relational Workstudy View required the
joining of data from both the Employee and the Student base tables. In this
object schema, as it has been constructed, this joining is not necessary. The
same data shown in the relational
Workstudy View (new window) can be
obtained by simply querying the Workstudy Class as shown below. This is because
the Workstudy Class inherits from both the Student and Employee Classes in
addition to the Person Class. A join operation is not needed.
